Root Chakra 101: What Is It And How To Balance It

The root chakra is the 1st chakra and is considered to be one of the lower chakras. This chakra draws energy from the earths core and is responsible for keeping us grounded. When the root chakra is out of balance, we lack a sense of security in life especially when it comes to our basic needs (food, shelter, transportation). The health of our root chakra also determines how well we are able to manifest material abundance, as well as how money comes in and goes out. With Virgo being an earth sign, it is the perfect time to focus on the root chakra. Doing root chakra work will help you to remain grounded, and when accompanied by money rituals, can help you manifest job opportunities, finances, and material success.

An imbalanced root chakra will affect your physical structure, feet, legs, joints and muscles. It’s also associated with your adrenals and endocrine system. Emotionally it will trigger feelings of loneliness, insecurities, abandonment, depression, disconnection and instability.

Chanting the root chakra mantra will help to balance and activate your root chakra. Chanting "LAM" 108 times will help the root chakra tremendously. You can use the 24 minute guided meditation below to get started.
