I am pretty sure you are familiar with the term “The mind is a terrible thing to waste.” Crazy how a simple statement can be so powerful. Everything that exists in your reality right now as we speak started with a thought that originated in your mind. The decisions that you made, the choices, the actions you took; all started with you putting thought into it first.
The mind refers to the mental processes of the brain. The brain is the most complex organ in your body and is responsible for everything that exists in your physical reality right now. The abusive relationship you are in with the person you made a choice to be with and stay with started in your brain. The financial situation you are in is due to the decisions you made on how to earn a living and how you choose to spend your earnings. It’s hard to hear these things, but it is also liberating.
When we view life from this perspective, we see that we are not victims. Life doesn’t just happen to us. When you know that you have the power to change your life by changing your mindset, suddenly there is light at the end of the tunnel.
“When you know better, you do better”
Self care of the mind is all about hygiene and strength. You want to take time out regularly to make sure you are cleansing your mind, just like you clean your house. When you don’t clean your closet periodically but keep adding items to it what happens? It gets cluttered. You can’t find anything, and in return you get frustrated because it takes you longer to get dressed and out of the house. It’s the same way with your mind. If you do not purge yourself regularly of negative thoughts, experiences, belief systems, and the false perceptions you have acquired by simply just living life, your mind becomes cluttered. The mental chatter starts to drown out your intuition. You start to make bad choices and decisions because now you can no longer trust your gut feeling. You start to overthink everything. Your internal compass, your mind, is now broken and if you do not fix it you find yourself living a life you hate. This is the true definition of being mentally weak.
This is why mental hygiene is so important. Mental hygiene is essential in living a happy, balanced life that you love. We must face our subconscious fears, examine our outdated belief systems, heal from the traumatic experiences of our past, and let go of all the burdens and expectations that were projected on to us by our parents, lovers, teachers, strangers, and friends. Taking care of your mental health is the most important and most loving thing that you can do for yourself.
There are a few ways that you can cleanse your mind regularly. Some of the activities and rituals I mention can be performed as needed, but initially you may find yourself needing to incorporate some at least once a week. When you think of mental hygiene and cleansing, just think of anyway you can get your thoughts out of your head. Any activity that helps you transfer your thoughts verbally, on paper, or energetically helps you to cleanse and make space for new information to enter.
The most important thing to do when cleansing your mind is to remove all the lies and false beliefs you have. The best place to start is with yourself. What are you not being honest with yourself about? This will take deep reflection which may be very uncomfortable. When you start to get real with yourself and remove the rose colored glasses you have been viewing your life through, you will not only raise your vibration but will have more control of your mind and your life.
Whenever the word therapy is suggested or brought up many immediately refuse or feel as though it is a waste of time. There is a HUGE stigma around seeing a therapist. Truth be told talking with a therapist or counselor can have a very freeing effect. Whenever you express your truth you are releasing the energy that truth carries instead of leaving it trapped in your energy field and subconscious mind. It is my personal opinion that everyone should have a therapist, counselor, adviser, or friend in their life that they can be vulnerable with and express their truth. When choosing this person make sure this is not a person who will tell you what you want to hear, but give you good sound guidance and constructive criticism when needed.
Journaling is so simple yet highly effective. When you journal you are putting all your thoughts and emotions onto paper and getting them out of your head. Look at it as a transmutation of energy. Everything is energy including your thoughts. When you take a thought that carries a vibration and write it down, you have now released the energy of that thought from your mental space and have grounded it into the physical world. If you had a fear based thought that carries the vibration of fear, that thought is just sitting in your mind creating negative thought forms. The moment you acknowledge that thought and journal about it. You are releasing and transmuting that energy. I advise everyone to journal regularly.Whether it is daily or weekly. Make journaling a routine in your life and see how free you feel mentally.
Many times we suppress experiences and past traumas. We tuck them deep into our subconscious mind where we don’t have to deal with them or relive the feelings they caused us. Or so we think. Truth is everything we suppress control our lives silently. Our subconscious is so powerful and anything you choose not to face and deal with has power over you. Hypnosis is an amazing way to tap into our subconscious and heal the aspects of ourselves hidden in the dark.
Our mind is very responsive to pictures and visions. When you close your eyes and visualize. You are programming your mind to believe that which you visualize. Once your mind starts to program the vision that you have for yourself, it must cleanse out anything that does not hold true to that vision. If you continuously visualize that you are are abundant and financially secure, your mind will eventually believe that. In return all thoughts that go against this new programming will be cleansed from you subconscious.
Try incorporating some of these into your routine to help with mental clarity and mental health. Until next time....
